The Hinckley Fire Department has received a
grant from the
DeKalb
County Community Foundation to help pay for the construction of a training building. This
building will sit just west of the fire station. Updates and
pictures will be posted here a work progresses. September 29, 2007 Work continues to plug along. Firefghter Chris "Don't call me Nar-nar" Narney supervises the second floor construction.
September 24, 2007 We are finally moving again. Volunteers have arrived to begin framing the building.
May 18, 2007. We are moving again on this project. Schmitty's Concrete (630-204-3873) came out and poured the concrete base. It involved resetting the forms which had been placed last fall, and improving the grade around the slab.

14, 2006. This is the outline of the training site.
August
4, 2006: The earthmoving for the site has begun. The black
dirt must be stripped away to provide a solid foundation for the gravel
area and the building. The earthmoving is being donated by Bish
Excavating of Hinckley.
